We've got a new DSL modem at long last! I'm back!!

So, after TWO WEEKS we still don't have our DSL back up and running. We have dial up on the one computer now, but since that moves at a snail's pace I've been keeping my use of the internet to a minimum, since it takes me ten years to load my friends page.

So! I'm still totally alive, but until we get our dsl back, and hopefully get a new service provider, given how failtastic our current one is, I won't be able to check much on lj. This makes me feel like a hugely uber douche, and I'm really sorry to everyone. If anything super awesome or super not awesome or super anything-in-between has happened to you please let me know! ILU friendos!

My internet at home has been down since Wednesday night and it probably won't be back up until Monday-Tuesday! Sooo...yeah. Fail.

WHY do I always wake up at 1 pm? It's like clockwork and it's really not cool. Even when I go to bed at a reasonable time, like midnight, I still wake up at 1 pm. It's ridonkulous. But right before I woke up in my dream someone asked me if "I'd ever considered donning floral pants". Ohhh subconscious, why so weird?

I'm currently trying to figure out whether I should go see The Hangover or The Proposal this Saturday. If any of you have recommendations on this front then I'm all ears!
Just saw the trailer for Ponyo and I'm pretty much ridiculously excited! I love Miyazaki!

Holy shit I don't even know why I check ONTD somedays. I mean, I initially headed over there to watch them all laugh at how Perez Hilton got beaten up and tweeted for people to call the police for him, rather than calling them himself, and I got that in spades so I was happy. But then I saw a post about Kelly Clarkson and the fat!wank going on is just fucking depressing. I mean, I'm not anywhere near thin at all, and I can only assume the 98.5% of the people hating on her over there for that aren't either so...idgi. BRB FEELING LIKE A BLIMP.

In other random not-about-me news: I'm glad that MGG confirmed that his Twitter is actually his on his MySpace.
...But now I might need to get one to follow him. Or not. I'll just check it out from time to time like I do with his MySpace. I don't actually have accounts on any of these social networks, aside from Facebook, I've realized. And I only got Facebook back in university solely to keep up with friends from high school that had gone to different places, so it was before it became this huge thing. I'm just way too lazy to get all those other things, I guess. *shrug*

AND HOLY FUCK I JUST SAW A PICTURE OF JOHNNY DEPP AS THE MAD HATTER FOR THE WONDERLAND MOVIE AND I AM GOING TO HAVE NIGHTMARES.
...actually ALL the pictures I've seen from the cast is gonna scare the hell out of me just from sheer weirdness, but it's a movie by Tim Burton with the typical Tim Burton cast so I'll probably love the hell out of it in the end. But it's still scary-as-shit looking.

They're finally giving me full time hours at work again, which is great for money, but seriously hindering my time that could be spent finding a better job. I shouldn't complain though, because I at least have a job. I know a lot of people that don't so...yeah :\

Ugh. I now know why I shouldn't have been so eager to get school done and over with: full time hours at work = absolutely no time to get much of anything done anymore, and that includes keeping an eye on my LJ/friends list. So I'm sorry I haven't been commenting as much! I'll be definitely trying to catch up on everything soon!

My schedule looks a lot like "work work work sleep appointment meeting work work stare at computer screen type nothing sleep". So there aren't even commas or slashes to break up the flow when I write it out! That's how lame it is.

So, this is just a quick update to apologize for any of your posts that I might not have commented on yet, honchos. I swear I will soon!!

...okay, so this isn't really about MGG, but it IS about another project of his so the subject line's totally legit.

I dunno how many of you guys know of my love for Alvin and the Chipmunks, but lemme just say that...I love the entire franchise, in all its glory, a lot. And the live action film that everyone hated? I love. I mean, I love the Chipmunks bunches to begin with, but toss in Jason Lee and David Cross as the main humans, and get Justin Long and Matthew Gray Gubler to voice 2 of the chipmunks? I'm pretty much sold right from the get go.
So that movie is totally my guilty pleasure children's flick. (I have guilty pleasures in all movie genres, I can assure you)

Soooooo, knowing this, it should come as absolutely a surprise to no one to hear that I am pretty darn giddy over the sequel coming out, which I'll love regardless of how bad it is. Except it's called "The Squeakquel". It's grown on me, unfortunately, but even I can admit how silly that is.

ANYWAY, they're bringing The Chipettes into this one, Amy Poehler is supposedly voicing Jeanette, and there's a poster that's been released. So. I might just be a bit too excited about all of this! Please forgive my nerdiness, I've not learned how to be cool yet.

GUBLER GUBLER GUBLER!!

I'm so excited for this movie! I mean, I was right from the get go cuz I love JGL, and the premise sounds interesting, but the fact that MGG is in it just solidifies it on my must-see list! The first trailer released didn't have him in it, and the second trailer had him in it for like 0.05 seconds, but this one tooootally makes up for it!

I have no idea why, but him saying "You son of a bitch!" just tickles me so much. XD

I'm supposed to be writing something/preparing for bed, but instead I'm taking quizzes and am drinking coffee at 12:20 am. Go me.
BUT we totally have a new pet! Kinda sorta! Way back in January I heard a kitten mewing outside our house and I opened the door and found the tiniest orange kitten ever waiting there, but I spent the better part of that night cuddling with her and feeding her and keeping her warm, and I even called her Penelope (after Garcia from Criminal Minds, lol), but I knew she belonged to our neighbours, who are notorious for bringing home cats and then just letting them run around wherever, and my dad was all "absolutely NOT" at getting another pet, so I had to leave her on their doorstep.
Well, months pass and we never see her again, until just a few days ago when she reappears, not all that much bigger, but certainly more skitterish. Well, it took a while, but eventually she relaxed enough around me to feel comfortable enough to approach me and then, after I brought her food again, she seemed to love me all over again. And she's been around for the past few days and just tonight she's taken shelter in our garage where my dad's been working, so he's got us bringing her out food and water and he's talking about getting her a litter box and everything. So we pretty much have an outdoors cat now. xD She's totally gorgeous and really affectionate too, but I wanna save up so we can get her spayed eventually, so we don't have any surprise litters of kittens. That is, IF she stays with us. I wonder what we'll call her...since I dunno if my dad will agree to Penelope xD

YEAH I totally watched Space Chimps illegally online today and it's probably a million times better than I thought it'd be, so Leslie totally wins, you guys. It's solid stuff!

BUT, onto good songs: my brother Nathan walked into the room thirty seconds ago, listens to the song I've got on, and goes "Is that Andy Samberg?" so when I confirmed that it was he asks "Are you like...in love with him or something?" to which I replied "...What's not to love?" and Nathan says "It would never work out. He's so goofy! And his hair is so...poofy! And, is he Jewish?" and I said "His last name is Samberg. Of course he's Jewish!" and he said "Well, you're Catholic. Like I said, it'd never work out."
So I said "Not to mention the fact that he's super famous and totally wouldn't be into me even in an alternate universe if he were single, which he is not?" so Nathan goes "Oh Courtney. You shouldn't sell yourself short like that. Anything can happen in alternate universes." and left the room. :P

The only reason why I'm still all geeking over this movie is cuz my brother was watching it before I left the house today, because he decided that he loved it too last night and wasn't really watching it with me.
So now I've been sent out to go buy it on DVD cuz we only have it on VHS and it's really starting to show how worn it is.

But anyways, I'm also gonna be seeing Land of the Lost at noon so that'll be pretty awesome too.

I'm watching Galaxy Quest right now and I don't think I could ever not love this movie. It's just so great! From the parodying of the Trekker/Trekkies at conventions to Alan Rickman's...Alan Rickman-ness it's just perfect! And how adorable is young!Justin Long in this movie? So cute!
I adore Justin Long so so much in like...everything he's in.

And I totally spotted Rainn Wilson as one of the aliens in this movie too, so I feel accomplished for no reason whatsoever. I had to go look it up on imdb to confirm that it was him, but I still totally recognized him!
Enrico Colantoni is awesome in this too, but it totally breaks my brain to try to imagine Keith Mars doing all this weird stuff. XD

...and this post will make absolutely no sense to anyone that hasn't seen the movie, so I'm going to just shut up about the movie right now. XD

This post totally exists just to say hi to all the honchos that've added me recently thanks to the TLI friend-o-meme, but my enthusiastic greeting, of course, extends to all my other flisters as well.

In honor of this very special occasion I...I actually don't have anything planned. I would have liked to have been able to come up with something cool, but I'm at work and it's super dead here so I'm bored and increative and...rambling...so yeah.

I'll just say this:

And I've learned that NyQuil no longer causes me to get wonky headed and pass out for great lengths of time, so looks like I'll have to just battle through it the old fashioned way.

Tomorrow is my convocation! Meaning, tomorrow I'll be officially an official university grad! I'm walking home right this very second, and since it's 2:30 in the morning I'm being super paranoid and glancing around every 5 seconds just to make sure I'm safe. Granted I'm chatting on YIM and listening to music, so I'm still like 50% distracted, but I'm gonna be fine, since this route is super safe and well lit.

My feet feel like they're gonna fall off though cuz I've been literally on them for 11 hours, without sitting at all. I didn't even get a break today cuz it was so busy. So...hopefully when I get home I crash immediately. But on the bright side, I'd noticed that it was cold out and found a coat at work that belongs to my cousin, and she hasn't worked there in months, so I claim this coat for myself. XD
